Disney fans rejoice! On January 1, 2024, Mickey Mouse, in the form of Steamboat Willie, entered the public domain. The Walt Disney Company postponed this for as long as they could, but the time had finally come. This fact became the topic of many news stories. But how much does the general public really know about public domain and what it truly means? For me, there were a lot of questions to be answered. That’s why I have Heidi Howard Tandy, a partner with the Berger Singerman law offices in Miami, Florida, visiting the show.
